The cool Autumn breeze has FINALLY made its way to Ohio and we are knocking all sorts of fun off our Fall bucket list. Surprisingly, we have never visited a pumpkin patch as a family *gasp* so we took a trip to Noble’s Family Farm this year!
So much fun!
Our girls were all about the Giant corn maze!
We truly spent around 45 minutes looking for clues and answering trivia questions.
At the very end we realized that we had dropped Kreed’s blanket somewhere along the way and pretty much took another 45 minute trip to back track.
Kreed would have been perfectly content in the corn pit for the duration of the trip . That boy LOVES to dig!
We have started collecting pumpkins of all sizes on our front porch and the trees around our house are beginning to turn. ahhhhhh pumpkin spice everything!
Is it bad that I’m already thinking about Christmas ? Who has been doing a little happy dance when you visit Hobby Lobby! Their decorations have me soooooo excited to start cozying up for the Holiday’s. It’s never too early for Christmas!!
This weekend we celebrated Kreed turning 1, Mexican Fiesta style!
My “cake girl” Staycee Anson (once again) created the most beautiful cupcakes for our “Let’s TACO bout the birthday boy” theme…
…can we TACO bout the itty bitty tacos and succulents? Total praising hands happening over here! I found some Pinspiration for the sweet little details here.
Our girls wore the sweetest little lemon outfits from Kelly’s Kids that went perfectly with the Mexican fruit/food themed decor. You can find Laelle’s pom pom shorts & monogram shirt here & Karys’ pom pom lemony dress here.
I found this little “Guac” printable on pinterest. You can find that on my “TACO themed” board here.
We chowed down on the TACO BAR…I made a huge crock pot of taco meat the day before and just re-heated it the day of the party…
…the only prep was putting the toppings in the bowls and setting out the pretty details…
Since onesie numero “zero” I’ve been dreaming about displaying these at Kreed’s FIRST birthday. We have watched him grow in these hand made little beauties each month and it’s kind of bittersweet seeing the teeny tiny ones paired with the current. My dear friend Jen of Swanky Shank on etsy created these with such love each passing month. She’s the one who made the kid’s birth order shirts that every swoons over …in my diaper bag post.
Yes….although Kreed looks terrified, he was secretly enjoying his tiny sombrero ad mustache…proud mommy moment…
We found Kreed’s button down taco shirt and my “I know Guacamole is extra” shirt at Target.
Of course when the mustache and the sombrero were replaced with a ball he perked right up..The kid is basketball, soccerball, any kind of ball…obsessed!!
Both of our Mamas were giving the birthday boy some “lovin”
He started off slow but reallllly enjoyed the cake!
We loved having everyone over to celebrate Mr. Kreed …any excuse I have for setting a pretty table I get all kinds of giddy!
Here’s a not-so-posed-we-are-ready-for-food photo…
Well I finally completed the organization project in the kitchen pantry. We haven’t lived here long enough for it to be a complete disaster …yet.
I wanted to try to make it as functional as possible, as soon as possible.
During one of our snow days, we pulled everything out of the pantry…(Kreed gladly helped with this part)
Next, Laelle helped by writing temporary sticky note labels until I was able to print my “nice” labels (from etsy.)
I printed these (customizable) labels from Sara Luke Creative (etsy), laminated them, hot glued them to these white silicon baskets I’ve been collecting from the Target $ spot.
During our (sometimes monthly) trip to Target there would always be some kind of white silicon basket in the glorious $ spot, so I would pick up 3 or 4. Before long, I had enough to completely stock our pantry.
Since we’ve moved into much more space, I’ve been trying to come up with a chore system where our girls were responsible for some tasks around the house . So I did what everyone else would do before tackling home projects…. PINTEREST.
I searched “chore charts” and came up with plenty of DIYs (that I didn’t really have time for) and some chore charts for purchase. Most were cute but did not fit our needs and weren’t customizable OR were super expensive.
I found these adorable chore charts from a shop called Abbie’s House and started to read up on them. Turns out they really know their stuff and let you customize the magnets to your needs, customize the layout of the chart & even customize the color of decorative ribbon.
They were SO professionally packaged and very thorough with customer service. Plus their chore charts start at $16… You can’t make one half as nice for that price . Use coupon code prov31 for 10% off any order
My girls haven’t stopped asking for me to “give them chores” ☺️ This morning was the first full day I could see how the chore charts worked out. They woke up & went straight to see their chores for the day.
They’re growing so quickly and have needed more responsibility so this makes the process fun for them.
I’m so pleased with how our kitchen is coming together and the functionality of it all.
If you are feeling frustrated with the functionality of your space … I feel your pain! I was right there with you for 8 years.
Make the best of the space, organize & re organize, pin, get inspired, get rid of the excess…
I totally live by the motto: “An organized house is a happy house”
I want everything to have its place in our home. That usually happens when you can label as much as possible… #labelallthethings
I’m even labeling our doors… Check out my chalkboard arrows from Hobby Lobby!!
