Fix the dreaded “stair battle” in 10 seconds…talking Stair Barriers today!

image

Mamas, if you live in a home with stairs you know all about the “stair battle.” The constant game of “on again/off again” where the eager climbers have you barricading the stairs OR you resort to rickety wooden baby gates. Kreed is a master at climbing the stairs but doesn’t quite understand the “getting down” without tripping.

image

We’ve been using a cheap wooden baby gate that is a constant hassle. You always spend WAY too much time trying to adjust the notches and if not done properly you can do what we did… snap the adjustment bar in half 😬

image

After this happened, I went to Pinterest to see if I could find a temporary *stylish* barricade for the stairs. Enter…The Stair Barrier

image

The Stair Barrier is made of a soft canvas in lots of color choices with easy adjusting straps. The first time you fit it to your stairs you can adjust the straps so that each time you install, it literally takes 10 SECONDS!

image

Now, when little mister tries to climb the stairs he thinks the Stair Barrier is a toy to pat and drum… It’s pretty cute honestly.

image

He is getting used to it and usually just walks right on by.

image

Something I love about The Stair Barrier is that you have the option of “wall to banister” OR “banister to banister” barriers in the exact size of YOUR staircase. They really have thought of everything! I can truly say that our days are much more peaceful since using The Stair Barrier.

Our Anna Maria Island Getaway 2016

We are back from paradise too soon but are reliving our time there through this post. Enjoy…

image

We love staying at the Conch Shell (the pink house, as our kids call it) everytime we visit Anna Maria.

image

The backyard is super gorgeous and has a fun pool and tiki bar.

image

image

Typically the first thing we do (after unloading our suitcases) is rent a few bicycles from “Beach Bums”.

image

We take bicycle rides to the beach, to dinner, to shop, pretty much for everything! That’s the beauty of small island life.

image

image

image

The water is so calm and we had no fear of waves, undertow or unknown creatures in dark water… It’s clear as can be!

image

image

Kreed pushed his truck up and down the beach constantly, stopping for an occasional ride in the back. That was probably the cutest sight EVER!

image

We ride our bikes around the corner to our favorite little shop called the “Shiny Fish Emporium” . Everything about the shop is just magical… I could live there, it’s so gorgeous.

image

Our favorite thing to do at the Shiny Fish is paint sandollars! They complete them with sparkle paint & hand dyed silk ribbons. Talk about the most gorgeous keepsakes!

image

image

Do you see Karys eyeing that sweet peachy ball? Those are called ice cream bubbles & they are sooooooo yummy! Can’t leave the Shiny fish without an icecream bubble or 2 or 4.

Cute antique spots

One afternoon we went to Poppo’s… It’s all locally grown ingredients and they make the tortillas right in front of you! Think Chipotle, times 100🙌 They also have fountain craft sodas that were heavenly !

image

We rode our bikes over to the pier one evening for a sunset dinner…

image

Karys and Nana spotted stingrays and dolphins..

image

Kreed and I got a few sunset snuggles in our Sakura Bloom sling… This thing was such a life saver.

My sister in law Karissa and I enjoyed dinner on the beach at “The Beachhouse” . They serve the most delicious pineapple coconut bread before the meal. It’s heavenly!

Hope you enjoyed a peek at our adventures… I’ll be sharing our professional shoot on the beach with the sweetest island photographer SOON! Until then, here’s a sneak peek…

Morning cuddles with Evy’s Tree

Dancing in the kitchen

Good morning! We have been flooded with sunshine the last few days and needless to say, we haven’t been enjoying it one bit…(blushing face) Mornings home with all three of my babies are good for the soul…

Cup holder display

There’s lots of “exploring” happening in our home since Kreed became so mobile in the last couple months..

Kid adventures

He’s always figuring out new ways to climb on top of “Un climbable” objects or completely “Un do” the straightening or cleaning I’ve been attempting all morning…

Mommy moments

… But he sure is my little sweetheart and is the comfiest, coziest little cuddler.

Speaking of comfy and cozy, you’ll find me most Summer mornings (or anytime for that matter) wearing one of my luxury hoodies from Evy’s Tree. They just released this emerald teal ruffle vest called the Reece vest and it’s ALLLLLL kinds of wonderful! Their pieces make me feel put together even if I’m hanging around the house or out and about. Loungewear chic? Sign me up!
